Denise's August Newsletter

August 1, 2009

Hello, Readers

Don’t you just love summer? Sunshine, warm weather and lots of outdoor activities—except for the humidity, what could be better? I hope you’re having a great one.

If you’re a regular visitor to this website, you’ve probably noticed that I made several changes to the content of each page in recent weeks. I’ll talk a bit more about these below. As I continue to add new features and graphics, please let me know what you think of them.

In the meantime, enjoy the rest of summer!

BACKGROUND THEME
If my website looks a little different to you, it’s because the golden leaves that once dappled these pages are gone and replaced with a new background. No grand reason; I just got bored and wanted something new! If you don’t like this one, no problem, it will change again in a few weeks . . .

BIOGRAPHY
“A few of my favorite things” is the newest feature on this page. Since I like so many things and the list of things I enjoy continually grows, this feature will change periodically. Check back from time to time and let me know if you agree with me.

BLOG NEWS
As promised, the July blogs covered English-language Learners, No Child Left Behind, charter schools and vouchers. These topics can produce strong opinions and I was intrigued by the diversity of opinions presented in response to my comments. It’s particularly fun to have new voices entering the fray. Thank you, to all of you who joined in.
For August, I’ll return to writing about creative programs and innovative teaching practices as I discover them. So, check out these educational blogs each week and jump into the discussion.

ARTICLES
Now that I’ve made previous articles available on this page, you can catch up on any that you may have missed. This month’s article, entitled “What If . . .” asks what you do about your hopes and dreams. Leave a comment at the bottom of the page and let me know how you feel about this issue.

YOUR FEEDBACK
As always, I want your comments, suggestions, and anything else you want to say. Let me hear from you!
